Dutchman's Tree Spade is proud to introduce its newest spade to our line of nursery products. The 95/102 Truck Spade has been years in development. Its spherical frame, and smooth towers, allow for greater clearance around a tree and help eliminate branch damage. The 95/102 is built with a 400 gal. water tank, head-ache rack, vertical stabilizers, and a custom checker-plate chassis with a hydraulic lock-down. It also carries an unsurpassed opening to wrap around even the widest tree.
The 95/102 has the ability to carry blades that will dig a 95-inch true ball, as well as an option to drop 102-inch blades in the same frame. Our main focus was to build a truck spade with "cold-formed" blades. The most common problem in producing a curved blade is maintaining the integrity of the steel. When steel has been heated, no amount of heat treating or quenching will ever restore the steel to its original hardness.
We can custom fit the spade to your truck but we recommend you check regulations in your area regarding maximum allowable weight and height restrictions. >>>> The 95" spade is one of the lower sitting spades in
the industry. It was built to keep the height and
width legalities in mind. This is why we formulated
the system that allows the blade cylinder to travel
down the tower as the blade moves down. When
the blade is fully coned, the cylinders are neatly
tucked in to the towers. This system allows us to
have a long stroke on a single-stage cylinder,
which gives you maximum power at a constant
speed.
 
>>>> Dutchman blades are cold-formed and therefore
are the strongest blades on the market. This
means that no heat is applied when the blades are
shaped. More strength in the blade will translate
to fewer problems down the road as other blades
have a tendency to bend and spread.
 
>>>> The blade cylinders that we use are 4 1/2" bore,
which can exceed driving forces of 45,000 pounds.
This surpasses most of the competitors by 10,000
lbs. or more. More power allows you to dig better
in harsh conditions like dry hard clay.
 
>>>> The frame on the 95/102” is a circular frame. The
high strength metal and larger hinges make it the
most durable in the business. The large inner
diameter allows the gates to open wider then any
other spade. This feature enables you to
encompass wide-branched trees with ease. (i.e.
Large Pines or Multi-Stems). The unique design in
the frame allows you to interchange blades from
95” to 102” without compensating the frame.
 
>>>> The lift-mast on the 95/102" is 2 feet longer than
the competition. This is important because it
offers greater support for the spade when it is
resting on the truck. Since the turret has more
travel then the competition, it helps to maximize
the vehicle’s weight distribution. (i.e. more weight
gets centered near the middle of the truck.).
 
>>>> The 95/102” is designed to face the tree forward,
which is the ideal method of transport when
dealing with total vehicle length. Transporting the
spade in any other manner may accompany
problems with the D.O.T. It also makes it
extremely difficult to back into a jobsite to set the
tree down. Most people would tie the branches to
eliminate any overhang on the windshield.
